Forfar v Rangers Scottish Cup match preview
By: j | February 17th, 2009Leading into Wednesday evening’s Scottish Cup match against third division side Forfar, the Gers have a near full squad available. Clearly with Kilmarnock Saturday afternoon, Walter Smith is likely to juggle his lineup.
Both Kirk Broadfoot and Nacho Novo are both out and Kyle Lafferty is questionable.
Prior to the match Ally McCoist said”
“Going to places like Station Park is a massive experience for our players because they are playing for pride; we are a massive, massive scalp for the boys up at Forfar.
“If they get a result it’s something you don’t forget it for the rest of your life, it’s as simple as that.
“The fear of losing should be enough of a spur for Rangers tomorrow and I hope that is the case.
“We need to approach the game in the correct manner.
“It’s easy to get yourself up for an Old Firm game but it can be a bit more difficult getting up for facing Forfar.
“Our job as managers is to make sure the boys stay at the top of their game and remember we are the cup holders.
“You don’t want a shock, you don’t want to be embarrassed, and the only way you do that is to work hard and treat them with a lot of respect.
“Hopefully our better players can then go on and win the game.”
