Madjid Bougherra is now a Ranger
By: j | July 31st, 2008
It’s time to welcome Madjid Bougherra to the mighty Rangers of Glasgow as he is on his way over
from Charlton Athletic for £2.5m. Being straight honest with you, I thought he was heading to West Brom or Sunderland and this is a great surprise. The powerful twenty-five year-old defender did a excellent job for Alan Pardew last season and will provide Walter Smith a number of options in the back-line. The key link to the move appears to be the urging of his fellow Algerian International and now Ranger-teammate’s Brahim Hemdani recommendation to join the squad. Ranger fans can expect Madjid to put forth a very high work-rate and a physical brand of Football. Great signing !
Given this signing the much talked about attempt move of Cardiff City Glenn Loovens will likely be abandoned.
