Mattias Bjarsmyr will not be coming on a loan
By: j | January 2nd, 2009With a highly limited budget this transfer season, the Rangers bargaining power is extremely challenged and until they orchestrate an acceptable sale, Walter Smith is unlikely to make material changes to the squad. Given the purse-strings are pulled tight, the club has attempted to bring defender Mattias Bjärsmyr in from IFK Göteborg on loan.
However the clubs Sports director Hakan Mild has reaffirmed that the highly-sought after defender will not be loaned and the Rangers will need £2.5m to secure the Swedish international’s service stating to the Daily Express:
“We’re not interested in letting Mattias away on a loan deal.
“That has never even been up for discussion.”
