Peter Lovenkrands coming back?

By: j | July 21st, 2008

At least if Peter Lovenkrands had his way, he’d be leaving Schalke 04 and returning to the Gers, as per the BBC. The twenty-eight year-old Danish International capped Winger / Striker left the Rangers in 2006 on a free transfer for the Bundesliga squad.

While there has apparently been contact with Schalke club Manager Fred Rutten, he noted any negotiations ended early. Based upon his very public comments there is reason to believe he’ll try to invigorate a deal and return to Glasgow. Any return might be slowed by a recent injury in which he partially ruptured of a lateral collateral ligament in his right ankle. Reports have this injury to keep him out to the end of the month but those media releases are far too optimistic and it’ll take to mid-September to October before he is one-hundred per-cent.
