Rangers nip by Aberdeen 2-0
By: j | November 22nd, 2008
The Rangers dodged a number of bullets to squeeze by a cagey Aberdeen side 2-0 at Ibrox. Aberdeen came close to breaking through on a few occasions and whether it was Scottish capped ‘keeper Allan McGregor robbing Derek Young of a certain goal or Pedro Mendes clearing Zander Diamond’s shot off the line, the Rangers goal could not be breached. Finally seven minutes after the break a Charlie Adam corner was battered around in the box and without being properly cleared by the Dons, Jean-Claude Darcheville pummeled the ball to the back of the net. After Pedro saved the equalizer, Kris Boyd doubled the margin eight minutes after the hour mark as a Charlie Adam corner was nudged from Kyle Lafferty to the troubled striker to plunked the ball into the net.
The win allows the Rangers to maintain pace against Celtic who are four points in-front of them at the top of the table. They return to SPL action next week against Hearts
