Rangers v Falkirk Scottish League Cup match preview

By: j | January 26th, 2009

Promising a more aggressive attack that the weekends affair against Aberdeen that saw the Gers held scoreless, Walter Smith said of Tuesdays semi-final League Cup match against Falkirk:

“It wasn’t an unfamiliar pattern we had on Saturday but we’ll go back to what we’ve been doing in other games.

“We’ll obviously have to make adjustments to our play because of the way Falkirk will set out their team.

“Hopefully the way we set ourselves up will be good enough to get us into the final as that’s a big thing for us.

“It is important we give ourselves an opportunity to win this trophy and that is always the case at this club but particularly this season as we don’t have European football.”

Dispatched out of European action and with fans very unhappy about the course the club is taking, Walter Smith will treat this match with utmost important. He will be without the services of Kevin Thomson, Kyle Lafferty and American international Maurice Edu.

As always I will report on the match as it concludes.
