Rangers v Motherwell match preview
By: j | September 20th, 2008Walter Smith’s Rangers welcome Motherwell to Ibrox tomorrow in a important match for both clubs. Motherwell has endured a dreary start to the SPL season, although they possess a very solid group in virtually every facet of the game. Sitting only one point above the bottom spot of the table, the Well is far too good of a club to be playing at this level. Graeme Smith is an enterprising ‘keeper who I expect great things of while John Sutton and Scot international David Clarkson make for an exciting striking tandem. The Rangers on the other hand hold a narrow three-point margin over Celtic and given they are not involved in European competition they must focus upon domestic success.

Sep 13 Rangers 2 - 1 Kilmarnock
On the injury front Rangers’ Steven Whittaker and Chris Burke are out with injuries and Saša Papac is excluded with suspension. Motherwell after its UEFA Cup match during the week is completely healthy.
I expect this to be a very tough match with the Well more than a handful to deal with and I will report on it as it concludes.

Could be an important Sunday in the early title race. As you well know, Killie has been tough, and may be able to hold Celtic, so a win here could give you a valuable edge. On the other hand, Motherwell are performing below themselves, and you don’t want to be the side opposite them when they decide to wake up. Let’s hope that’s Nancy.
