that was ugly

I actually debated that title but in the end that’s how I want the “google” reference to stand of Liverpools 4-0 demolition of the Rangers today to stand. In essence when someone types in, for whatever reason “that was ugly”, bam – they’ll be reading of today’s embarrassment.
Post match Walter Smith commented:”We can’t take a lot from the game apart from the fact we were well beaten. There is no excuses from our point of view”
Actually I have to agree with you. It was an embarrassment and an abomination that fans had to pay for that effort.
He continued: “The result was disappointing but we have to improve, there is no other way to look at it. We need to get up and raise our standards and we have to do that very quickly.”
Yes, you do and the style of play and the desire that was so evident last season needs to be remembered. But instead of talking of this of of that, apologize to the 50,000 fans who were expecting something more than a gutless performance.
Putting this match under the microscope comes up with a simple conclusion and you don’t need to go much farther than the same effort that saw the Ranger drift towards a scoreless draw this week against Kaunas was put forth and Liverpool, in the friendliest of friendliest, cut threw the Rangers easily. This was an uninspired performance of players who think their jobs are secure.
