week 7: Hibernian match preview
By: j | September 25th, 2008
The Rangers face Rod Petrie’s Hibernian at Easter Road in a important Scottish Premier League match on Sunday. On the strength of two successive victories Hibs are sitting fourth in the table, tied with Kilmarnock. Their success can be attributed to very disciplined defending and noteworthy patience in waiting for the right attacking point.

Over the last two seasons, the tough competition between the two clubs is clearly evident with the Rangers holding a modest margin, although the last two matches ended in nil draws. Hib’s commitment to marking and clearing lines, make them potentially one of the Rangers most challenging opponents and very capable of ending their unbeaten streak. Walter Smith will need to employ an aggressive attacking approach, heavy on pace to break through Hibs midfield but be prepared for a capable counter-attack.
I will update this report should there be changes to the injury situation. I will equally report on the match on Monday morning. I apologize for the delay but I am off in my own matches and will likely be unable to properly review and post till then. I thank you for your patience in this.
